History of Department of Engineering Mathematics

Department of Engineering Mathematics began at Technological University (Thanlyin) in 1996. It was changed to the Department of Engineering Mathematics in 1999. At this time there have many head of the department at the department of Engineering Mathematics. They have led to change the syllabus and curriculum of the Engineering Mathematics subject to become international level.

Nowadays, head of the Department of Engineering Mathematics is Dr. Aung Moe Khaing (Ph.D., Engineering Mathematics). He initiates the credit system to the teaching and learning of the Engineering Education in Technological University (Thanlyin). He also modified the syllabus, curriculums and Course guidelines for Engineering Mathematics to be a advanced analytical subject.

Department of Engineering Mathematics takes the responsibilities for the subjects of Mathematics in the Technological University (Thanlyin) with the following aims:

To enable the engineering students to apply the concepts and principles of Engineering Mathematics
To be able to utilize the various Mathematical Methods and models for practical application
To enable the engineers to participate in a certain way in developing the country with the knowledge of Engineering Mathematics
The department had offered postgraduate programme for Master’s Degree from 1998-1999 academic year to 2003-2004, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019 academic year and postgraduate programme for Doctoral Degree from 1997-1998 academic year to 2009-2010 academic year.
