ABOUT

Vision of the Department

To provide advance knowledge and educate students within our fields to the benefit of society.

Mission of the Department

  1. To prepare students for utilizing more creativity, innovativeness and out-of-box thinking.
  2. To produce ethically strong and morally elevated human resources to serve mankind.
  3. To undertake collaborative projects and consultancy for long term interaction with the academic and industry.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

The Electrical Power Engineering Department has established the following objectives:

Objective 1:    Apply the engineering knowledge and skill, complex problem solving skills and critical thinking in professional engineering practices.

Objective 2:    Adopt ethical and moral behaviour and exhibit effective skill in communication, management, teamwork and leadership qualities.

Objective 3:    Engage in Life – long learning of Electrical Power Engineering to attain professional excellence and also in other allied fields.

Each of the 3 PEO has direct Assessment Indicators (AI) to measure the
graduates' achievement of PEO respectively, as listed below:

PEO 1 - Technical Competence
PEO 2 - Communication Skills/ Leadership
PEO 3 - Professional Ethics/ Lifelong Learning

Graduate Attributes (GA)

The Electrical Power Engineering Department has established the following learning outcomes in order to successfully achieve and satisfy our program objectives. These outcomes are subordinate to the program objectives and represent skills and attributes our students should possess at the time of graduation. In addition, these learning outcomes are identifiable and measurable elements that are evaluated to assure program objectives are being achieved.

(1) Acquire and apply fundamental knowledge of science, engineering and mathematical with an engineering focus in solving complex electrical power engineering problems.

(2) Identify, formulate and solve complex electrical power engineering problems.

(3) Design an electrical power system, component or process to meet desired needs for public health, safety, cultural, societal and environment considerations.
